1894 Chicago Press Clipping Bureau in Chicago, Illinois For Sale

Red serial-numbered Stock Cerificate for the Chicago Press Clipping Bureau mostly in shades of black and grey against a white background whose white has dulled with age somewhat and with an embossed gold seal stating company name amd incorporation date in lower left corner. The embossed gold seal does not "gleam" brightly like similar seals on other old documents that I own, but nonetheless it is embossed and it is gold. Hand-signed by Secretary and President at bottom. Dated xxxx. Measures 8 3/16 X 10 1/4 inches.
The graphic at top-left of document displays a head and shoulder side-shot portrait of a woman wearing a stylish hat unique to that time period. At the front of the hat just above the woman's forehead is a shining star that seems to emit radio waves. The woman also totes a shoulder bag. Top-middle of the document states the name of the Company with modest, but not spectacular, graphic framing.
Suitable for framing or as gift to boss or acquaintance in the written media industry.
Good condition, but not Excellent. No writings on document. One tear at top border of the document measures 1/8 X 1/8 inch missing piece. Left-top edge has a barely discernible one inch black mark literally right on the edge. Backside of document has a smudge mark. All of these problems become indiscernible once the document goes under a glassed frame. The biggest matter, in my opinion, is that the white background has lost its luster and looks age-faded, but that is part of the ambiance of an xxxx document.
