1919 Stock Certificate - Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company in Chicago, Illinois For Sale

Authentic black serial-numbered xxxx stock certificate for the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company features an inspiring design of a railroad track circling the outer border of the document. At the top is four-car locomotive train including its elongated caboose riding the track with a community setting in the background. On the right-hand side is a nifty internal control device whereby the stock issuor uses a hole punch to denote how many stock shares pertain to this document. For example, this certificate holder invests in five shares, so the internal control grid has a zero and a five hole-punched into the grid just as you would have your passenger ticket hole-punched by the train's conductor.
The bottom of the document features five graphics of a large train signal box, a small pile of metal rails, a small pile of axled wheels and brake pads, a section of guard rail and a large speedometer. The left-side border contains the document's counter-signor. Other hand-signed signatures appear near the bottom of the document as well: the Transfer Registrar and both the Company Treasurer and its President. Document color is dollar-bill green, and the company name streams across the center of the document.
