1950 Sales Brochure - 428 St. James Place Lincoln Park in Chicago, Illinois For Sale
This 4-page brochure features a Lincoln Park building offered for sale by exclusive sales agent Cochran & Company in xxxx. The building, located at 428 St. James Place, is known as "The Criitendon", a word which interestingly does not exist. The closest fascimile to this word is "crittenden", as in the Crittenden Compromise, which was an unsuccessful proposal introduced by Kentucky Senator John J. Crittenden on December 18, xxxx that aimed to resolve the U.S. secession crisis of xxxx--xxxx by addressing the grievances that led the slave states of the United States to contemplate secession from the United States.
The Crittendon in xxxx consisted of fourteen 3-room apartments, eight 2 1/2 room apartments and sixty-four 1 1/2 room apartments. It was located about two blocks northeast of Clark and Fullerton, a few hundred feet west of Lincoln Park. Current overall property taxes were $10,012 per year. Sales agent Cochran & Company state that they already have an offer in hand to sell the building for $315,000, which apparently they deem as insufficient.
Brochure measures 8 1/2 X 11 inches and is in excellent condition with zero rips, tears or folds. Front cover contains five small penciled numbers at top of page and do not detract from the document.
