1973 Stock Certificate - Deliciously White Trash (Arlan's Dept. Stores) in Chicago, Illinois For Sale

This serial-numbered Arlan's Dept, Stores, Inc. stock ceruficate has a handsome blue border, measures 8 X 12 inches and contains a graphic of a stern-looking, middle-aged woman wearing a breastplated long gown and bearing a drawn sword in one hand and a defensive armor shield in the other hand while sitting on a throne. Near the bottom of the document is a blue underprint stating "Certificate of Stock". At bottom of the certificate are signatures of Company executives (Secretary and President) and the company seal, which is NOT an embossed seal, but merely a picture. Document was printed by the American Bank Note Company and is dated xxxx.
Document is in excellent condition except for some faint pencil writing near the top which do not detract from the document whatsoever. No rips or tears.
In xxxx, Dayton-Hudson acquired sixteen stores from the Arlan's department store chain in Colorado, Iowa, and Oklahoma. That year, two of those units reopened as Target stores, and in xxxx the other fourteen were reopened to make a total of 46 Target store units, more than one-third of which came from Arlan's as Target built up its business. On January 27, xxxx, courts assigned all of the assets of the iconic discount department store Arlan's to crediitors.
