High-Efficiency Furnace Rebates
Cash rebates are available for the following high-efficiency natural gas furnaces to all current Residential Nicor Gas customers.

All furnaces must have an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) of 92% or greater.*
To be eligible for the $250 rebate, furnaces must have an AFUE of 95% or greater and meet ENERGY STAR standards.*
Please Note: All Contractor Invoices/Proof of Purchase Receipts must include the installation configuration ("Upflow," "Downflow," or "Horizontal"). Contact your professional contractor for more information.
 
General Requirements for All Rebates
Equipment must be new. Resale equipment, new parts installed in existing equipment, or equipment that is leased, rebuilt, rented, received from insurance claims or won as a prize do not qualify.
Equipment must be installed by a professional contractor conforming to all applicable building, local and state codes, and manufacturer specifications.
Equipment must be installed and operational prior to requesting a rebate at the service address included on the rebate application.
Equipment must be replacing existing, natural gas equipment used for the same purposes (applicable only to installations completed in existing facilities). Equipment additions to a residential space, where equipment did not previously exist, or installation of qualifying equipment in a new facility, are eligible for Program rebates if all other Program qualifications are met. Natural gas equipment replacing electric equipment, and electric equipment replacing natural gas equipment, are not eligible.
Equipment must be installed in a single-family dwelling, or a multi-family dwelling of three units or less.
Equipment must be purchased and installed during the Program offering period, June 1, xxxx through May 31, xxxx.
 
 
* Please note: ENERGY STAR qualified furnaces must have an AFUE of 95% or greater, effective February 1, xxxx. Due to the change, products are no longer required to be ENERGY STAR qualified to be eligible for the $200 rebate for 92% to 94.9% AFUE furnaces. The requirements for the 95% or greater AFUE furnace remain the same.

Complete System Replacement Rebates
Through a partnership between Nicor Gas and Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), residential customers of both utilities are now eligible for cash rebates when installing both a qualifying furnace and central air conditioning system.

Requirements for Complete System Replacement Rebates
PLEASE NOTE: Complete System Replacement (CSR) rebate applications for equipment purchased and installed between January 1, xxxx and May 31, xxxx, must have been submitted by June 15, xxxx to be eligible for the previous offering. Applications are no longer being accepted for CSR equipment purchased and installed before June 1, xxxx. 
Heat pump installations are not eligible for CSR rebates.
Furnace installations must meet all requirements listed on the Furnace Rebates page.
Central Air Conditioning Unit Requirements:
New equipment must have a SEER rating of 14.5 or greater.
The evaporator coil and condenser unit combination must be AHRI Certified (Visitwww.ahridirectory.org to verify certification, or click here for more information on the AHRI Number).
The rebate amount of $250 is for the complete central air conditioning unit, including both the evaporator coil and condenser unit.
Participation and Application Requirements:
Participant must be a current residential delivery service customer of Commonwealth Edison (ComEd).
Application must be postmarked (or submitted online) no later than 90 days after the initial installation date, or by June 15, xxxx, whichever comes first.
Installation of a qualifying high efficiency furnace and central air conditioning unit must be completed at the same time by the same installing contractor. The Furnace must be fully installed and operational prior to submittal of this application. If installation is completed in the winter months (November through April) and the Condenser Unit cannot be placed, the Furnace and Evaporator Coil must be installed at the same time. The Condenser Unit must have installation planned for the spring and be completed by May 31, xxxx.
All equipment, including the furnace, evaporator coil and condenser unit, must be included on the same invoice.
Offer is valid for qualifying equipment purchased and installed June 1, xxxx, through May 31, xxxx, or until funds are depleted.
General Program Requirements:
Equipment additions to a residential dwelling, which are not replacing existing natural gas equipment, are not eligible for rebates.

Indoor equipment must be installed and operational prior to requesting a rebate at the service address included on the rebate application. Outdoor equipment may be scheduled at a future date (no later than 5/31/13) if weather prevents immediate installation.
Equipment must be installed in a single-family dwelling, or a multi-family dwelling of three units or less.
