Now here's a real treat you are not going to see everyday - a xxxx Martin Limited Edition (#544) D28GE Golden Era Brazilian Rosewood acoustic dreadnought guitar (Serial No. xxxx8XX) in virtually unplayed condition. Due to it's rarity and collector status, it has seen almost zero play time. It has been maintained securely in its original Martin 525 case, in a smoke-free, environmentally controlled room.
The Martin D28GE Golden Era features the finest old growth Brazilian Rosewood and Select Adirondack Spruce. The back & sides are stunning grained book matched Brazilian Rosewood. The top is Adirondack Spruce that is striking with subtle grain and silking. The headstock veneer is also exceptional in its grain structure and coloring
This Martin D28GE has a D-14 Fret body size; Style 28 - B/W Fiber, D-OMLE forward shifted top braces, HD zig zag back purfling, a grained ivoroid endpiece, a B/W wood fiber back inlay, and a select hardwood neck with a Modified V neck shape with fossilized ivory nut material. The guitar has a solid, long diamond, tapered headstock, and is constructed with solid Brazilian Rosewood and is appointed with a Golden Era style logo. Other specs include a 25.4" scale length, 14-frets clear to the body, 20-frets total, a fingerboard width at the nut of 1-3/4", a fingerboard width at the 12th fret of 2-1/4". The bridge is a solid Black Ebony, xxxxs style belly - long saddle with a bridge string spacing of 2-5/16". The saddle has a 16" radius and is fossilized ivory. The tuning machines are Waverly Nickel with butterbean knobs. The bridge and end pins are fossil ivory with black dots. The pickguard is I-03 tortoise color/beveled and polished and the case is the original 545 Geib style case.
Words are not capable of describing the sound or tonality of this guitar. My impression is that the guitar has strong volume and sustain.
