Position Overview:
As aProduct Managerin the Audit Innovation & Client Service Delivery team, you will work with business stakeholders, as well as Audit Leadership, to design and deploy technology and process solutions to our practice and clients. You will utilize your business, audit, and technology expertise to provide product management for a portfolio across industries and practices in Audit. You will be expected to develop relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders such as business teams, learning, communications, risk regulatory & legal, audit technical experts, and technology groups. You will take the lead in managing a portfolio of specialized applications that are used widely throughout the practice. You will lead teams to build, deploy, improve and sustain technology solutions, and will identify new opportunities when possible.
Key job responsibilities include the following:
Build and maintain relationships with all teams involved with the product such as business product owners, development, risk regulatory and legal, learning & training, as well as other teams
Provide effective and proactive communications to project stakeholders including timely status reporting, trainings and roadmaps
Be a trusted technology advisor to the Audit Practice while managing expectations throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and maintaining appropriate business engagement in requirements gathering, writing, and application support
Lead release management activities
Perform comprehensive assessments of technology industry trends and business requirements to develop technology roadmaps for products and the broader practice-area, in an effort to ensure product alignment with larger Audit Technology strategic priorities
Manage, monitor, analyze and report on product portfolio and its life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
Maintain high levels of support for applications in our portfolio, proactively pinpoint potential issues, serve as a point of contact for practice sponsors as issues arise, and team with support personnel to modify existing procedures as needed
Coordinate and regularly communicate with other Product Managers to facilitate cross-team collaboration
Prioritize and maintain a comprehensive product backlog for all products in portfolio
Standardize user experience across all tools
Exhibit ethical behavior, and communicate Deloitte policies and procedures when mentoring junior staff
Informally mentor other Product Managers and team members on structured methodology and best practices
Special skills/professional experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience and understanding of the audit business as well as a passion and experience for technology particularly in the Product Manager capacity.
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Finance, Information Science, Business Management, or similar field; Master&#xxxx;s degree a plus
Audit background strongly preferred
6+ years of experience in an Audit, Business Analyst, Product Owner or Product Manager role
Extensive experience with core tools including Microsoft Office Professional (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Access, SharePoint, etc.), and others
Strong client-service background, with excellent interpersonal, presentation/facilitation, and written communication skills
Adaptability and demonstrated leadership within a continuously evolving environment
Ability to cast wide influence, including outside of immediate line of reporting
Experience in managing/supervising project teams of 5 or more people, and in working with offshore resources
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with meticulous attention to detail and quality
Ability to manage multiple projects, assign and manage work activities, meet deadlines and develop project management reporting in a timely and effective manner
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently; performs work effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to easily grasp and communicate complex ideas
Expert problem-solver. Find simple answers to complex questions or problems
Advanced leadership and general management skills, including conflict resolution capabilities and outstanding negotiation skills. Must be able to effectively manage scope of projects and the expectation of the project
Ability to synthesize clear business requirements from customer inputs, effectively prioritize requirements and make informed project tradeoffs, and map business requirements to appropriate functional/technical requirements
Experience managing budgets, developing high-level financial documents on potential solutions, and presenting cost/benefit and strategic analysis to leadership
Experience developing/managing large to very large project schedules and setting project milestones
Ability to travel between 10% - 30%, as needed
