Duties:
- Implements the curriculum established by YCCS which is designed to meet the established competency based standards. - Develops lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum with modifications and differentiation to address the needs of all students. - Plans and implements student-centered lessons using research based strategies. - Plans a unit of study integrating the use of technology and project-based learning. - Creates engaging lessons that develop student critical thinking and problem solving skills. - Continually assesses student progress toward mastery of standards. - Keeps students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data, providing daily feedback, and weekly assessments. - Provides necessary accommodations and modifications for growth and success of all students. - Participates in school-wide professional development. - Attends designated school functions outside of school hours. - Participates in Parent Teacher Conferences. - Takes daily attendance in PowerSchool by 8:45 a.m. daily. - Records all grades in PowerSchool according to deadlines. - Participates on a minimum of one school-wide committee. - Attends and participates in all school-wide assemblies. - Performs reasonable other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The MathTeacher should have a valid Illinois Teaching Certificate OR Possess the following qualifications: Bachelor?s degree; Employment for at least five (5) years in a relevant field; Passed required basic skills test and subject area test; Provide evidence of continuing professional growth. - Works with integrity and ethically. - Upholds agency policies and procedures. - Posses the ability to prepare written reports and other correspondence relating to the job. - Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and to organize tasks effectively.
