The Territorial Disaster Training Coordinator advances The Salvation ArmyA?s response capacity to fulfill the mission of disaster services and advance the National Disaster Training Program (NDTP) by providing training, mentoring of staff and volunteers.Establishes solid relationships with partner organizations, churches, and Salvation Army staff/volunteers in order to recruit and train a competent, efficient, and professional expanded pool of volunteers to serve in a Salvation Army disaster and crisis response.Motivates, encourages, trains and mentors people to obtain competency to fill key positions and utilize their expertise and gifts within disaster operations. Provides orientation for all new Training Coordinators and provides resources and on:going training as needed or requested. Develops a system for all trainers to be utilized, properly trained in their areas of expertise, and evaluated on their performance.Assists in the development and revision of disaster curriculum and works to develop trainers for advanced levels of training who also have expertise in these areas in the field.Coordinates with the Territorial Resource Coordinator to coordinate and monitor volunteer partner databases which can easily link data to the National EDS Database for TSA deployment ID badging requirements.Supervises the reporting of all training activities.Develops and assesses the need for training, develops a territorial training plan and supervises trainers.Coordinates divisional up to international conferences and training sessions including facilities, contracts, materials and volunteers. Implements the use of webinars to assure specific groups (such as trainers) can be given updated information as needed and required. Provide direct training of courses within the NDTP for Salvation Army personnel, volunteers and partner organizations. Education: A: 4 year degree in Ministry, Teaching, Volunteer Management, Emergency Management or a related field or any equivalent combination of training. Masters degree preferred.A: Critical Incident Stress Management TrainingA: Approved trainer for The Salvation Army National Disaster Training Program Experience: Three years experience in the coordination and development of volunteers, training groups of various sizes and curriculum development. Certifications/Training:A: Introduction to The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services Incident Command System.A: Incident Command SystemA: Emotional and Spiritual Care in Disaster OperationsA: Food Service
