There was a crow. At a very hot summer day he was feeling very thirsty. He flew from place to place in search of water, but he could not find it anywhere. He was very sad and disappointed at not getting a drop of it.At last he saw a jug of water. He flew down to the jug and sat on its edge. When he craned his beak to quench his thirst, he, saw to his great discouragement, that the water was just at the bottom. His beak could not reach such a low level of water. He even tried to overturn the jug but could not. It was too heavy for him to move.When he was just about to fly in despair, he thought of a plan. Suddenly his eyes fell upon some pebbles lying near the jug. He flew to them, picked up the pebbles one by one and dropped them into the jug.Slowly and slowly the level of water rose and came up to the neck. The crow was overjoyed to see this. He thought up a clever plan and got the water! Then he was happy! Then he got an idea. He took the sponge and dripped it into the pot and then the sponge started to absorb the water. After all the water was absorbed he took the sponge out and sucked the water from it. In todays world smart working is important than hard working. The crow just made a hole at the bottom of the pot with its beak and had sufficient water to drink. He had an idea. He picked one of them and dropped in into the pitcher. The level of the water rose a little. Then he dropped pebble after pebble, till he could reach the water drink comfortably and quench his thirstHe brought the pieces of sponge and made a bed on one side of the POT. Then he tilted the POT on it to the level so that the water comes to the neck of POT. Then he drank water. Again kept the POT in straight position , kept sponges back to sofa, to test the intelligence of the next crow. Crow knew that if the sponge was stuck inside the jar, he would not be able to drink the water from it. But, being wise as most crows are, our friend Crow knew how to get around this stumbling point. Taking the sponge in his beak, he dropped it into the jar- and then let it soak up all the water inside. When he was sure that every drop was saved inside the jar, he picked the thing up in his claws and flew the jar over an empty street. SMASH! Crow dropped the jar on the road, freeing the sponge, and was able to drink all of the water he pleased. The crow slowly walked and saw lots and lots of pebbles and stones. Big ones and small ones. He thought if the crow can get water by putting pebbles in a pot then maybe I can get water by putting stones and pebbles in the pot.So the crow put stones and pebbles in the pot.The water came up and the crow drank it all and flew off happily. Well, the crow remembered the story of pebbles dropping in the jar, so, he also found some pebbles of bricks nearby and dropped them in the pitcher. But what happened, the pebbles absorbed all the water in the pitcher and the crow remained thirsty and exhausted with all that work. Poor CROW before dying uttered this last sentence " Alas I should have searched for straw instead of pebbles".The crow was so thirsty that she was ready to do anything. So, she went to the river bank which was some short distance away and picked up some small pebbles and put them into the pitcher one by one. Soon, The water rose up. The crow drank the cool water and returned home happily. She was no longer thirsty. The crow was so thirsty that she was ready to do anything.
